The Uniform

Today I wanted to share with you all my go to uniform when I’m not sure what to wear: all black with a few statement pieces. I know all black might seem cliche, but pairing different textures together for a monochromatic look can be incredibly chic. I also chose black pieces with a bit of interest. My tank is from H&M and has a completely sheer back, which gives the opportunity to show off a fun bralette. I also chose my Gap high rise jeans with ripped knees to play with proportions and show off a little skin at the knees. To punch it up, I like to add a statement bag or shoe. In this case I incorporated both. I’m absolutely in love with my new Rebecca Minkoff blue suade bag that I snagged in the Nordstrom abbiversary sale. I have also been loving my new silver reptile print Birks which I found at Nordstrom Rack for only $60. They look amazing together and are put on show with an all black base.

What has been your summer uniform? Let me know in the comments below!

Hello loves! I’m back with another what I wore Wednesday! When it’s hot out I always reach for a fun summer dress, Lord knows I have way too many of them for how often I get a chance to wear them. This one is one of my particular favorites from Francesca’s Collection. It’s bright red with little tiny penguins on it, and it’s one of my all time favorites. I still remember being in the store trying it on, I came out to show my mom and I was so excited. She asked me if I really wanted and would wear a dress covered in penguins, because it was kind of weird. And I think that was one of the first times when I stood up for myself in my own fashion choices. And yes I did want that bright red dress with little penguins, and I didn’t care what anyone else thought of it because it made me happy. My mom has since changed her mind about the penguin dress and it’s become a great inside joke between the two of us, so for me, this dress has a lot of other memories attached to it as well. To go along with this super special dress, I paired my all time favorite Fossil purse and Vince Camuto sandals. I kept the jewelry simple with a pair of studs from Nordstrom Rack and rings all from Banana Republic, to accentuate my Deborah Lipman Polish of course.

Have a fabulous day!

Hello loves! Happy Wednesday! It’s time once again for another What I Wore Wednesday post! And my apologies for such bad picture quality, I’m working on getting a better camera and such for the blog, but for now we will deal with my ancient one. Today’s outfit is my “brave doctor going outfit” because I hate going to the doctor more than anything, so if I look nice when I go, it makes it a little more bearable. My dress is a new purchase from Loft (which is 40% off today, so you should seriously take a look at their site.) I’m obsessed with this tangerine kind of orange color, it is the epitome of summer. It pairs perfectly with my new favorite set of necklaces from Ann Taylor along with the matching turquoise earrings, of course. I’m also rocking my new favorite gladiator sandals from Vince Camuto. I also threw on my American Eagle denim jacket as it was a little chilly this morning. I feel like this dress will be my go to for this summer as it’s light weight, modest, and also has a super cute triangle cutout on the lower back.

I hope you guys enjoyed this outfit and are having as great spring weather wherever you are as I am here! Have a fabulous day!

Hello loves! This week’s Midwest weather has been absolutely ridiculous, which is so typical for this time of year. Dressing around that and the fact that I still want to wear my spring clothes has resulted in many days where I’ve been freezing at school, but today I think my outfit is just right.

My button down is an older one from J.Crew. (My friends say it looks like it was dipped half-way in water…) My jeans are from American Eagle. And my red flags are my favorites by Sam Edleman. I paired this with my Alex and Ani bracelets and of course, my Fitbit.

I hope you are having better weather wherever you live and are able to wear all the spring clothes your heart desires, have a fabulous day!

Hello loves! We’ve made it to Wednesday, which means it’s time for another What I Wore Wednesday. Today I woke up way to early and worked out before school, so let’s just look past the hair. I didn’t have time to shower and get Starbucks, and Starbucks obviously always won.

Today I kept it pretty simple. I wore my favorite basic white tshirt from Banana Repblic and my favorite black jeans from Gap. I threw some color into my outfit with my Lucky Brand silk scarf and Lucky Brand flats. For jewelry I’m wearing my Alex and Ani bracelets and TJMaxx earrings. {As well as my Fitbit, I guess that counts as jewelry.} I hope you enjoyed this post and it inspires you to throw some color into your outfit today! Have a fabulous day!

Hello loves! We’ve made it to the middle of week once again, which is a great cause for celebrating, and means it’s time for another What I Wore Wednesday.

Today I was feeling super ready for spring, but the weather was not cooperating… So I added my American Eagle jean jacket over my Francesca’s Collection lace top. I layered an American Eagle camisole underneath so it wasn’t too scandalous. Of course I paired this with my favorite jegging jeans from Gap. I’m wearing my Sam Edleman snakeskin flats because they’re super comfortable and go with everything. I also added my Alex and Ani bracelets to make my Fitbit look a little better.

Have a fabulous Wednesday and find a way to celebrate today!

WIWW: April 1, 2015

Hello loves! Happy April Fools day! I completely missed the opportunity to do a funny post today, because I somehow forget about this holiday every year. Maybe next year I’ll remember and get ya! On another note, I’m so excited for the spring weather that’s finally here! Yay!

My vest is a super cool leather-look texture from Banana Republic. I layered a plain white T-shirt underneath from J.Crew. My jeans are my tried and true Jegging Jeans from Gap; I love this wash for spring. My shoes are snakeskin Sam Edleman flats. I punched up my outfit with a colorful statement necklace from J.Crew Factory. (Which you can see more clearly in the title picture.)

I hope you guys are enjoying the lovely spring weather, and once again, Happy April Fools! Have a fabulous day!

WIWW: Travel Outfit

Hello loves! I know this week isn’t usually a What I Wore Wednesday week, but since I was planning to do an outfit post today anyway, it fit! As promised today’s post is my travel outfit!

For any trip, I like to wear a lot of layers so that I can adjust to any temperature I may be in. I also try to wear my bulkiest coat that I plan on bringing to save space in my suitcase. For this trip I wore my J.Crew anorak jacket that is one of my wardrobe staples. Under that, I wore a super long J.Crew Factory striped T-shirt. I layer over top a burnt orange scarf that I’ve had for years from Banana Republic. I’m wearing my tried and true Under Armour leggings. I finished the look off with my white converse. My travel tote is my Kate Spade “Play The Field” bag. I’m not the most experienced traveler, but this outfit worked out super we’ll for me! Being comfortable and layering is the key to whatever you’re wearing. And I found that a tote was a great fashionable option for a carry-on. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and found it helpful! Have a fabulous day!

WIWW: March 18, 2015

Hello loves! Happy Wednesday! Today’s outfit is basically me being super cold, but also excited for spring… It’s a confusing time in the season. And I’m also leaving for vacation on Saturday, so I’ve already packed or set aside most of my more spring-like clothes.

My flannel is my absolute favorite from Gap, it’s slightly oversized and super warm, which is great for a cold morning. My jeans are my favorite Gap Jegging Jeans. I’m wearing my favorite stack of bracelets, plus my Fossil watch. And my shoes are my white converse, and we’re ignoring the fact that you can see my socks because I could not find my no-shows this morning. Hopefully you’re having better weather where you are! Have a fabulous day!
