Life Check-In: January 2015

Hello! As we’re closing out the month of January, I thought I’d do a little bit of a more personal post to close out my first official month of blogging. I won’t be doing these particularly often, just when things are a bit more interesting!

As a high school senior, I feel like throughout my time in high school, not much changes from month to month, or everything changes. This month was one of those “everything changes” months. This month my one year relationship came to an end, which is a huge change. It was definitely a tough thing to go through, but I know that this is all part of God’s plan, and that everything will go according to His plan. Which I am totally ok with, because I am not nearly as good at planning as He is. This month I also started my blog! This has honestly been such a blessing to me in so many ways. It has brought me closer to my family, which I’ve loved. My aunt has been helping me set up the blog, helped me with the many technology woes that come with it, and has been taking some of my pictures for the blog. ( She takes the ones that are actually good quality.) My cousins have been super supportive of my endeavors as well! I’ve also gotten a lot closer with my mom, who is forever my favorite shopping partner. She’s been pushing me to step out of my comfort zone a little more, and pushing me to be the kind of confident blogger I want to be! (So you can blame her for any questionable fashion choices I make in the next few weeks…) Besides my family, another place I’ve been hugely supported from is my friends. I wasn’t sure how they’d feel about the fact that I was starting a blog. For some reason I assumed they would think it was stupid, or not worth my time, but I was so wrong. The usual reaction I got was a look of excitement and about 100 questions about it, and usually a “that’s awesome!” at the end. Hearing and seeing all their reactions really helped me to believe in myself and know that I could, and should, do this! Another thing that this blog has done for me is given me a much needed dose of self-confidence. I’d been really struggling to be myself, and be confident in who I am this school year. It was really hard for me to start off this school year for some reason, and I was just getting anxious about everything and not able to really be myself. Having somewhere to channel my energy and having so much support and positive feed back has been a huge part of getting back to being my confident self!

Another random side-note that kind of goes along with this post, is I am the senior class president for my class… Which means that I have the job of planning prom. Which is honestly, rather terrifying. But, I thought I’d take you all along for the ride! There will be more posts to come about that later. And even if you aren’t in high school, event planning is ROUGH. Just trust me on this one. I have honestly learned more about planning weddings through planning prom, than I have from any magazine, so I’d like to share what I’ve learned with all of you! Hopefully it’ll give you a few tips and tricks for the road.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for today! I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into my life to end off the month, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

xoxo,

The Blonde Brunette
